We are almost into year three of President Trump’s first term in office. He has done more for this country than anyone could have imagined. While the border wall, that was a large part of his platform, is slowly being built, it has not been fast enough for many Americans. Finally, legislation is to be introduced this week that would call for the wall at the southern border to be fully funded; and that is thanks to House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-CA. The only thing that surprises me is that the representative responsible is from California. Especially because most of the representatives in California seem to spend their time and money fighting the wall and protecting illegal immigrants.
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has signaled his intent to introduce legislation this week that would fully fund President Trump’s wall on along the nation’s southern border.
The legislation by McCarthy, who is looking to drum up support among the GOP’s rank and file as he eyes House Speaker Paul Ryan’s speakership, is expected to call for full wall funding alongside other enforcement measures already approved in the House.
“Few things are more fundamental to a nation than a protected border,” McCarthy tweeted on Tuesday. “Proud to introduce the Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act.”
